Memorial service for Marine Private First Class Richard Broadhurst
Private Richard Broadhurst of the Fourth Marines Regiment, the first Marine from  Stamford to be killed in action in Vietnam, was remembered in a ceremony Tuesday, August 4 at Cove Island Park.  Broadhurst died this day in 1965 at age 19 from wounds suffered from an explosive device, and Stamford residents honor his sacrifice each year.
